Guides for adding the Helmior bot to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, Discord, Telegram and WhatsApp, and for using it day to day.
Getting started
- How Helmior worksHelmior is an AI coordinator that sits in your team's group chat. When someone mentions it, it turns what they said into an update on a pipeline — a new lead, a stage change, a note — and asks before it does anything that leaves the workspace.
- Set up Helmior in five stepsTo get Helmior working, connect your chat app, add your teammates, build and deploy a pipeline, bind it to a channel, then mention @Helmior there. An admin can do it in about fifteen minutes.
Connect your chat app
- Which chat apps does Helmior work with?Helmior works in Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, Discord, Telegram and WhatsApp, and can post announcements to Signal. This page compares how you install it, how you talk to it, and what it can do on each.
- Add Helmior to SlackTo add Helmior to Slack, open Settings → Integrations in the Helmior dashboard, click Connect on Slack, approve the app in Slack, then invite @Helmior to the channel your pipeline uses. After that, mention @Helmior in the channel to talk to it.
- Add Helmior to Microsoft TeamsTo add Helmior to Microsoft Teams, a Microsoft 365 admin clicks Connect on Teams under Settings → Integrations and grants consent. Then add the Helmior app to a team in Teams and @mention Helmior once in the channel, so it appears in Helmior's channel list.
- Add Helmior to Google ChatTo add Helmior to Google Chat, click Connect on Google Chat under Settings → Integrations and sign in with your Google Workspace account. Then, in Google Chat, add the Helmior app to a space. The space appears in Helmior straight away, ready to bind to a pipeline.
- Add Helmior to DiscordTo add Helmior to Discord, click Connect on Discord under Settings → Integrations, choose your server on Discord's screen and authorise it. Helmior joins the server straight away. Talk to it with the /helmior slash command in a channel bound to a pipeline.
- Add Helmior to TelegramTo add Helmior to Telegram, click Connect on Telegram under Settings → Integrations, then use the "add to group" link on the Telegram card to add the bot to your group. Mention the bot's @handle in the group, or reply to one of its messages, to talk to it.
- Connect WhatsApp to HelmiorTo connect WhatsApp, click Connect on WhatsApp under Settings → Integrations and choose your business and phone number in Meta's sign-up screens. Every conversation with that number can then feed a pipeline. There's no need to mention Helmior, because every message sent to the number is meant for it.
- Post Helmior announcements to SignalHelmior can post a pipeline's announcements to a Signal group, but it can't read messages there. Signal is send-only, so magic words and questions don't work. Use it to keep a group informed while the work happens in another chat app.
Using the bot
- Talking to HelmiorMention @Helmior (or use /helmior on Discord) and say what happened in plain words. It can start a record, move it to a stage, note details and outcomes, answer questions about your pipeline, draft emails, documents and meetings, and undo its last change.
- Magic words — starting records from chatA magic word is the word that tells Helmior to start a new record instead of updating an existing one. Admins set it on a pipeline's entry stage as a Chat trigger. Anyone in the channel can then write "@Helmior new Acme Ltd" to create a card on that stage.
- Confirmations, undo and removing recordsHelmior drafts anything that leaves your workspace — emails, documents, meetings — and waits for a yes before sending or creating it. Say "undo" to take back its last change, or ask it to remove a card and confirm. Deleting permanently is only possible in the dashboard.
- Direct messages with HelmiorYou can message Helmior privately to ask about your own work, like "what's on my plate?". DMs are read-only. Helmior answers from the channels you're in, but it won't create or change records there. Updates happen in the team channel, where everyone can see them.
- Google Docs, Sheets, Meet and GmailHelmior can write Google Docs and Sheets, set up Google Meet meetings and send email from your own Gmail address. Each person connects their own Google account, and everything is drafted in chat first and only made after they say yes.
Admin & troubleshooting
- Add people so Helmior recognises themHelmior only acts for people an admin has added. Open Organization, click Add person, and pick the teammate's account from a connected chat app. Helmior then recognises them from their next message. Nobody is ever added automatically.
- Bind a channel to a pipelineEach pipeline listens to exactly one channel, group or space. Pick it when you create the pipeline, or later from the pipeline's Settings → Channel, then deploy. Until a channel is bound, Helmior replies there that no pipeline is set up yet.
- Permissions, data and privacyHelmior reads only messages addressed to it — mentions, replies to it, DMs and /helmior commands. It asks each chat app for the smallest set of permissions it needs, stores credentials in a secret vault, and never deletes records or changes permissions from chat.
- Helmior isn't replying — troubleshootingIf Helmior doesn't reply, check that it was really mentioned, that it's in the channel, that you've been added as a person, and that the channel is bound to a deployed pipeline. Helmior usually replies with the reason. Here's what each reply means and what to do on each chat app.
